updating a blog can sometimes be hard, but starting today, I'm going to get better. Fall is such an inspiration for so many reasons. I could never leave the midwest, there is just way too much beauty to take in during the Fall. I've been able to get my hands on some cute fall sweaters.

Not exactly the same, but when I put these two little dresses side by side, I just thought they looked cute together. Both would be great for fall paired with a little cardigan and some boots. Fall is almost here, time to layer up.
These three have been hanging around too long. That little mock turtleneck is just right for under some bib overalls. The Health-Tex sweater is soft velour and would be darling with some bright colored cords. I especially love the duckie sweater.
All are just waiting for you in the shop!

I used to love going to my grandma BB's house and "thrifting". She had a whole upstairs that was a full blown time capsule. She never threw away anything in a good and bad way. There was a lot of junk, but there were also some major treasures. I always made sure that I asked her if I could take something, but of course she always said yes. I recently went back to stay with my mom for a few days. I had a chance to look through some boxes collecting dust in the basement. I was looking for my old college boxes from the last time I moved out, but no such luck. But what I did find was pretty awesome.
There we so many lovely things. I've been wanting the tinkerbell lamp for awhile now, but never had a way to take it home. I drove down this year, so I loaded up on everything I could. The dishes at the top are part of a set that had a bunch of miss matched dishes. Some could be saved, others were just to damaged. I thought these made cute flower vases.
Another view of the lamp * a little bedside lamp in need of a shade. The clock is a little note holder, it opens up to reveal a note pad and pencil. * I thought the dishes were pyrex, but it turns out they are "made in France" that was all the info I could find on them.
Here are the dishes, see what I mean, they are all over the place. I'm going to sell them as a lot in my etsy store, but everything else is staying with me.

Health-Tex clothing is one of my favorite vintage brands. They are easy to spot when thrifting, I just look for bright stripes, one pieces, jumpers, and printed corduroy. I especially love it when I find cute boy's pieces, like striped shirts and cute onesies.
Check out some of these cute ads that I found online
Connect the dots, awesome
I have several Health-Tex items in the shop. I'm always so happy when someone buys one because I know they are going to love it.

Things have been kind of slow over at the shop, so I decided to create a Facebook page to promote it more. Why didn't I do that before? I'm doing a special give away when I reach 100 "likes", something from the shop or perhaps a special little something from my personal collection. In the mean time, I was just looking around the shop and noticed that these goodies were still hanging around, they are too cute to be gathering dust, use the code "summer" and get 25% off your order.
What in the world is this still doing hanging in the shop?
This cutie is only $15, use the code "summer" and it's only $11.25
Ah come on now, those need to be worn.
So remember to "like" my Facebook page for a chance to win some cute goodies!

yard sales! I'm in the mood for some, but so far not so much luck. BUT, I am lucky enough to have girls who love a good sale too, as well as sleeping in. I can be gone and back before they even notice, got to love teenagers.
I did get a chance to take some photos of of some cuties that I've had since last summer. I especially love this little giraffe jumper.
The 50's jumper is soft and perfect for hot summer days. Sweet little pinafore dress that could be layered for fall. The little smocked top comes with a attached vest.
I love it when I find vintage boy where. I have two girls, so I never really looked for boy stuff, but now I have my eye out for vintage boy goodies. I love the Health Tex tractor onesie, especially the rainbow sleeves.
I'm devoting an entire day to updating my shop, what day is that? MONDAY! So look for these goodies then.

So it's been a crazy end of the school year. Now it's time to get back to business. I have stocked the shop with a few new goodies and there are MUCH more to come. So many cute summer frocks, I can't wait to get them posted. For now, here's a little preview.
Little apple overalls, yellow little man sweater, go sailor overalls
A nice little mix of novelty dresses, soft and sweet.
These little jumpers are all so cute, especially the 50's rosebud printed short-er-alls.
If you use the code Summer for 25% off your order!

Cute spring dress I just added to the shop.
Remember the birthday scene from "Mommy Dearest"
This dress reminds me of the one Carol Ann wore for her party. I think I watched that movie 100 times when I was in middle school. I used to pretend I was Carol Ann, horribly abused by my rich, actress mother. Sometimes I pretended I was Joan Crawford, I used to practice her autograph and try to trick my friends that it was really her's.
Here it is with the princess slip underneath. The slip is so sweet and gives a little poof to the dress.
Many, many more dresses are coming into the shop, I just found a nice bunch of summer wears for little ones. Even some cute boy stuff, and I never find cute boy stuff!

Looking for some great deal on vintage kid's clothes? Then check out this awesome sale over at Little Reader Vintage. Use the coupon code 50OFFSALE and receive 50% off your order. There are so many cute items to choose from.
Little embroidered giraffe vest, so cute!
I really wish I had a two year old that this sweater would fit. Ok, what I really wish is that this was my size because I would wear this every day.
This dress is sassy, it's sweet with just a little bit of don't mess with me to it. Like Pepper from Annie!
There are many more adorable items to choose from so hop on over there and check it out.
Also, if you are looking for other cute vintage children's items, search using "VKC" as part of your search title. You will find lots of other Vintage Kiddo Collective shops. It's a great little community of sellers.
I have been slow going this week on getting things posted to the shop. The weather has not been cooperating so I haven't ben able to take many photos. I have piles of dresses waiting to be photoed, so check back soon!
I just added these five vintage nursery rhyme puzzles to the shop. They are not in mint condition, but still cute enough for display.
Old Mother Hubbard, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Mary Mary Quite Contrary
Closer look at Hey Diddle Diddle
Old King Cole
They were all made by the P & M Company.
I haven't added them yet, but look for them soon!

I took a trip back to my hometown in Illinois for Easter and hit a bit of thrift store gold. I found all sorts of goodies for the shop. Like......
Some awesome paint by number paintings, one winter, one spring. Two cute needlework flower pictures. One is crewel work, the other is more like a canvas type work. I also scored this German Pisces wall hanging.
Here's a little closer look. The stoneware cup and jar are so sweet. I think I'm going to hold onto the wooden fruit, it's kind of a new obsession.
Then there are these pillowcases. I found a matching pair of the Joan Walsh Anglund cases which just make me happy to look at. I've been collecting the mod flower pillowcases for years now and never get tired of them. I have plans to make a quilt out of some, but it's hard to think about cutting them up.
I love just finding one of these suitcases, so I was even happier when I found two at the same place. They are in excellent condition, I even carried one filed with goodies home on the train.
These two and other items will be coming into the shop this week. I've been slow at updating the shop due to this being spring break, next week it will be back to normal, so keep checking back!
