A Sweet Find

Here's a cute little 40's coat that my girlfriend found for me the other day.  It's a handmade wool coat with a red velvet Peter Pan collar and velvet buttons.  The kicker is the matching hat, so cute, and that fake fur pom pom ball on top, I want one.  It's for sale now in the shop along with a bunch of new stuff.  Now if we can finally get some sunshine here in Michigan I can take some new photos of the large pile of stuff yet to be done.

Some of my favorite movies in clothes form

Two of my all time favorite movies are "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "About a Boy", I decided that these two smart dresses reminded me of something Veruca Salt might wear.

The sweater isn't really like the one Marcus wore, but it reminds me something that he would wear.  It's one of my all time favorite sweaters.  My daughters were not that keen on wearing it, so it's now for sale in the shop.

I just posted my 100th item in my etsy store!  When I first started my shop back in October, I never thought I'd be able to reach 100 items.  It's a full time job having an etsy store and I feel so lucky to be able to dedicate time to something I love to do.

I've been fascinated with the Loch Ness Monster since I was a little girl.   I was one of those kids that would check out the same book about sea monster and Big Foot over and over again at the library.  I remember when the popular "Surgeon's Photo" was revealed as a fake, and I was like "no way!"
It really bummed me out.

So I started making these little Nessies out of my favorite stash of vintage feedsack material.  I had been hoarding the fabric for years and I thought this would be a good use for it.

As for believing in the Loch Ness Monster, I still do!  I'm like Linus with the Great Pumpkin, you can never doubt!

Some day I will make it to Scotland and the Loch Ness and someone will say, "how's about we get in a little row boat and head out into the lake and see what we can find."  And I will say "oh hell no, but thank you I can see just fine from here." I'm curious, but not stupid.
